The Problem
SDK tools only work on apps you built.
Instabug and similar tools require SDK integration in the app itself. If you're testing a competitor's app, a vendor integration, or an APK from another team, you're out of options. Until now.
How it works
Record. Report. Fix.
1. Open clip.qa and record
Launch clip.qa on your Android device. Navigate to the bug in any app — side-loaded APK, beta build, or production release. Device model and Android version are captured automatically.
2. AI generates the report
One tap. clip.qa's AI produces a structured bug report with steps to reproduce, expected vs actual behavior, Android version, device model, and full environment context in LLM-ready markdown.
3. Export or paste into your AI tool
Send to Jira, Linear, or GitHub Issues. Or paste directly into Claude Code or Cursor — the report gives your AI coding tool everything it needs to write the fix immediately.
Android FAQ
Does it work on side-loaded APKs?
Yes. clip.qa records at the Android OS level, so it works on any app installed on your device — Play Store apps, side-loaded APKs, enterprise builds, or beta distributions. No changes to the APK under test are required.
Do I need ADB or developer mode?
No. clip.qa does not require ADB, USB debugging, or any developer mode settings. It's a standard Android app you install and use normally. The only permission it needs is screen recording, which Android prompts for on first use.
Does it work on emulators?
clip.qa is designed for physical Android devices. While the screen recording functionality may work on emulators, the device context (model, exact Android build) captured on a physical device is more reliable and actionable for bug reports. We recommend testing on real devices for the most accurate reports.
What Android versions are supported?
clip.qa supports Android 8.0 (Oreo) and above, which covers the vast majority of active Android devices in 2024. Device model and Android version are automatically included in every bug report.
